The California Association of Life Safety and Fire Equipment

CalSafe, The California Association of Life Safety and Fire Equipment, held their Annual Meeting this October 2nd and 3rd at the Wyndham Hotel & Resort in San Jose, California. Friday was the associations’ 9th Annual Golf Tournament followed by a Vendor Reception. Saturday was packed full of informational speakers, experts, and dignitaries to help provide new and important information for the attendees and vendors. Among those speakers was the infamous Craig Voelkert, the recent winner of NAFED’s Lifetime Achievement Award for outstanding service and dedication to the Fire Protection Industry. Mike Laderoute and Tonya Hoover also took the podium, delivering information about automatic systems and what it’s like behind the scenes as Acting State Fire Marshal.

What is an annual meeting without giveaways? Our Wesco prizes proved to be a hit with all in attendance and we’d like to give our congratulations to Cintas for winning a Nano and to Ace Fire for winning the new ITouch.  Our very own Shannon Esopenko and Andy Clark were both in attendance and really enjoyed themselves while also informing members of Wesco’s products and service capabilities. Shannon summed up the entire CalSafe experience positively in saying “We had a good time out at Cal-Safe and got a chance to talk to many of the fire equipment dealers out there. We hope to make an impact in supplying for their needs in California.” In essence the 2009 Annual Meeting of CalSafe turned out to be the perfect combination of fun, education, and business.
