Looking Back at the FSSA 2016 Annual Forum and 2015

The Fire Suppression Systems Association (FSSA) 2016 Annual Forum was held in beautiful Fajardo, Puerto Rico at the Waldorf-Astoria El Conquistador Resort. According to feedback received from this year’s attendees, the 2016 Annual Forum was among the association’s best forums in its 34-year history.

In addition to an amazing line-up of meetings and educational presentations on a host of topics, there were countless activities that attendees enjoyed while in Puerto Rico.

One highlight of this year’s Forum was the discussion of all of the milestones that the FSSA has celebrated this year. In addition to having a record-breaking attendance at the Forum, the association and its committees celebrated many key milestones in 2015. FSSA President Tim Carman (2014-2015), current Immediate-Past President, was quick to point out that the association sent representatives to several industry meetings in the United States and Canada over the past year. This included several SFPE conferences in Atlanta, Philadelphia and Montreal, Canada. Additionally, the FSSA presented at the ASCET 2015 Annual Conference in Dallas.

In addition to presenting at these industry conferences where our representatives showcased the invaluable knowledge that FSSA and its representatives possess, the association’s committees also continued to move the FSSA forward through its first-ever targeted advertising campaign in FPC Magazine with an ongoing plan to publish more information with other leading industry publications. Just last month, The Halon Herald advertised the association’s educational guides via an advertisement. The FSSA is quite thankful for all of the industry support it is receiving.

During 2015, membership continued to increase, and the FSSA brand grew even stronger. This growth and the ongoing interest in the association are often due to the efforts of those who volunteer their time to make FSSA the premier association for those in the special hazard fire protection industry.
